Great Opportunity - Investigative Aide, Peoria, Illinois

A Security firm working for a local Fortune 100 company seeks an Investigative Aide in an entry level position. The duties for this position may include:

1. Coordinates and supports Brand Protection and Investigations Manager, Senior Business Investigators, and other Global Security managers.

2. Effectively communicates, both orally and in writing, with internal and external process partners to facilitate the execution of the Brand Protection and Investigations function.

3. Produces PowerPoint presentations and other written documents.

4. Effectively maintains records of inquiries made by internal and external process partners, and the results of those inquiries.

5. Prepares accurate letters, memos and reports in a timely manner. May decided whether to answer correspondence him or herself, prepare a reply for a security manager’s signature, or route it to someone else for handling.

6. Performs administrative and support duties within office of a sensitive and confidential manner.

7. Performs tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for assignment.

The work sounds interesting and the opportunity appears to be a good one, initially anticipated as somewhere between part to full-time but potentially full-time for the right candidate.

A student in my CRJ 230 (Evidence) course asked the above question. Below is a great video summary. This is a great career choice for: someone interested in the law but unsure of whether or not they want to go to law school; someone who was attracted to the law and initially thought they wanted a career in criminal justice but after further exploration determined that the job prospects available in criminal justice fields weren't really a good fit; or someone who has a passion for the law, wants to serve others and work as a professional with a lawyer in many exciting areas of the practice of law, corporations or the court and criminal justice systems. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, paralegal degree or 3 years equivalent experience, and general familiarity with legal issues and forms; must be friendly and outgoing, possess excellent computer and communication skills; must have professional appearance and demeanor and demonstrated ability to act with discretion when dealing with confidential matters.
