Administrative Assistant to the Chief Judge

The position of Administrative Assistant to the Chief Judge of the Tenth Judicial Circuit Court is open for applications. The office is located in the Peoria County Courthouse, Peoria, Illinois. Some travel is required. This announcement is for all employees of the Circuit Court of the Tenth Judicial Circuit and the general public.

This position is a fulltime position with the State of Illinois with a 40 hour work week (Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). It is classified as a grade 78 with a starting salary of $35,435.

The Administrative Assistant is a responsible position providing support to the court personnel in the Tenth Judicial Circuit. Work requires performing administrative duties as delegated including: the understanding of technical and legal information; maintain confidential information for the Circuit; preparation of letters, memoranda, calendars, dockets and other information as related to the operations of the Circuit; utilizing knowledge of legal and judicial processes; assisting the Chief Judge and court in scheduling cases, court interpreters and similar resources; and acting as a liaison between the court, attorneys, circuit clerk offices, other officials and the public.

Minimum requirements for this position include: associate degree, including or supplemented by courses in business or office management, legal research or business, and five (5) or more years experience in government or the private sector supporting a law office, court or related office in a management or supervisory capacity, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities.
