Another recent grad wrote home today. We really should have a family reunion of some sort for all of our graduates.
Here is her message in part:
Hello,
I am doing great at the new job. I like it a lot. I am dealing with settlements, complaints, discovery, interrogatories, etc. You know, ALL OF THE STUFF I LOVED IN CIVIL LITIGATION; my favorite class. I know I didn’t seem too excited about the actual job, just the money, but I love it. I stopped by [my internship] the other day; I miss the people!
I really like Lisa (also a program grad!); she’s a great boss, teacher, and mentor. Pretty much every class that I took has applied to my job in some way.
A friend of mine is taking the Admin Law class and she goes into panic mode every day. I remember those days. My only response to her is just when you think that it’s going to slow down, BOOM!
ISU didn’t compare to the paralegal program. It was extremely stressful, challenging, and a great experience!
You know this is the truth; because I don’t have any reason to suck up anymore.;)
Thank you for all your help!
Alicia
Alicia is a Summer 08 Grad successfully employed as a compliance specialist, managing litigation and using her paralegal skills for a large central Illinois corporation.
